¿¡Más Intercambios!?

Wow, this week went by fast... May possibly be because I had two exchanges again. I had an exchange with Élder Dabb and Junco. Élder Dabb is from Denver Colorado and Élder Junco is from Oaxaca México. I learned so much from both of them and thanks to them my conversational skills have grown a ton in Spanish. They helped me to better be able to converse with new people and have more trust in my skills.

Other than that not a whole lot happened this week. Today we had Zone P Day which was a blast. We played chamusca (Chapin word for fútbol) and had pizza after. I may have had an entire pizza by myself. But then again it's Little Caesars and it doesn't fill at all.

Tonight we had noche de hogar with Manuel Aguilar (the mission leader in the Rama de Genova Costa Cuca). And they had a visitor from the states! I don't remember her name sadly (I'm finding Spanish names are much harder for me to remember) but I do know she lives in a town called Colorado Springs south of Denver Colorado. Those names are a little easier for me to remember.

Oh I didn't mention the bread!!! Oh my gosh Guatemala has some of the best bread ever. Because it's Holy Week everyone makes pan de santa semana which is this sweet date bread I believe. But they don't just make some. They make enough to fill a 2 foot tall 3 foot wide bucket full of it... depending on the size of the family. This family however was a family of 4🤯. So ya a lot of bread. Which, if ya know me, ya know I love bread. So grandma I guess you were right. I did end up going to a mission that makes good bread😂

Now considering it is Holy Week and this coming Sunday is Easter followed by the following week is General Conference too! I'd like to invite ya'll to do something I'm going to do. Everyday watch a general conference talk in preparation for listening to the apostles and prophets in real time. ¡A LA GRAN!

Wow, is a mission hard, in a good way. To start off ... I have a companion that doesn't speak a lick of English. So there's that. I mean I'll learn Spanish much faster this way. But it definitely comes with its challenges when you struggle to understand what people are saying in lessons. So basically I just sit there until he asks me a simple question, asks me to read something, or gives me that look that it's time for me to bear my testimony. But other than that I consider myself pretty lucky. I'm in the awesome little town called Genova in the zone of Coatepeque. And basically all we do is walk up and down this little main brick road, occasionally taking a tuk-tuk to a different neighboring little town, sharing messages and working with three people on their journey to baptism for this coming week. Conferencia General

Ok, so a lot but not a lot happened this week. So I think it's going to be a short one this week... we'll see. So, to start things off I have a new companion, our area doubled in size and we now have two houses. Insane... You'd think two houses would be nice, but boy does it complicate things. Now there's a lot more planning to be done every week. I am now half way through training and have a new comp! Élder Canal is lit! He's from Peru, speaks un poquito🤏 English, and is bien pilas!! (awesome) This week there's been a lot of sick people with different illnesses from a fever to kidney stones😬. So there have been many opportunities to use our priesthood authority to give priesthood blessings. It rained!! Oh how I have missed the rain!!!! It began to rain Saturday for a couple hours and then stopped. And then today it absolutely dumped for about an hour. El Dia de Preparación Final en la CCM

Oh what a P Day it has been. But before I get to what happened today, on Friday, I'll talk un poco 'bout my week. So to start this week off we got to listen to a broadcasted Devotional from Provo that D. Todd Christofferson spoke at and boy, was that a good talk. He spoke about the Atonement of Jesus and how important it is to repent. He gave us the gift of repentance and we must use it. He can't save us if we don't choose to receive this amazing gift. What's the point of Him giving us agency if we abuse it and expect him to save us without us doing any work? My house (Casa 50, which consists of 15 Élderes) tried out for a musical number for our final devotional here in la CCM. On Thursday we tried out with el himno Loor al Profeta (Praise to the Man) acapella. We felt good about it until the next audition showed up, which was basically a choir of about three districts whose devotional would also be their last. We thought we had no chance.
