Qué loca esta semana!

Dang what a crazy week it's been.

So to start off here's a list of everything that happened.
-2 exchanges
-2 baptisms
-Zone Conference
-Stake Conference
-And illness
So as you can tell it's been crazy. Imma go day by day again for this email.
MARTES
So to start off the week we had an exchange with the Zone Leaders, and boy was that fun. I lead the exchange, my first exchange... but boy was it fun and soo good. I was with Élder Thomas and he is bien loco. He's a ton of fun and taught me how I can better be a missionary and great friend with the people.
MIERCOLES
The next day we met back up at Taco Bell, with not only our comps, but with the Élders de Colomba for yet another exchange. The only difference was that I was not leading and was in a completely different area and didn’t know anything. And the fact that I was sick to my stomach with a fever that night and got maybe 2 hours of sleep.
JUEVES
By the time I got back to my area and house on Thursday I was already feeling a lot better despite a slight lingering headache and exhaustion. But other than that I was ready to get back to work in my area!
VIERNES
ZONE CONFERENCE!! A la gran it was such a blast. Meeting up with a bunch of other missionaries I hadn't yet met and with one Élder that I came here with was so awesome, not to mention seeing President and Hermana Mckay! This conference was quite interesting. The reason for this is because we had it on top of a hill in Colomba that overlooked all of green Colomba with the massive mountains in the distance. I even got to play my guitar for everyone. And before the conference began I got all dripped out with dope Guatemalan typico ties. (Pics in the album👇)
SABADO
A LA GRAN DOS BAUTISMOS!! Melany and Angel got baptized Saturday!! It is so exciting to watch and help them enter into this new life of theirs with God. Élder Rodriguez baptized Melany and I baptized Angel. After the baptisms we had our interviews with President Mckay on zoom, which was amazing. I love talking with President Mckay. Just talking to him you can feel his love for you and the love he has for his calling and the people of Guatemala. He's so great. After our interviews we made our way to Coatepeque for the leadership and first general meetings of Stake Conference which was amazing. We got back home really late but that's all good.
DOMINGO
Sunday we had more Stake Conference. One thing which was crazy that happened was the President of one of the Branches came up to me and started asking me where I'm from in perfect English. And when I mean where I'm from I don't mean which state ... like where I grew up and live in California. Come to find out he was born and raised in Rancho Cordova and moved to Guatemala six years ago. What are the odds? Such a small world in the church🤯
LUNES
Now for today. Once again we got together with the district for something the Hermanas planned. I won't go into too much detail. But let's just say it was interesting and my face is a lot clearer now.😂 If you wanna find out what we did check out the album😂😂. I also got to talk with the mission nurse today. So fun. The past two-ish weeks I've been (I'll keep it PG) sick in the stomach. I figured it would get better but it hasn't. But it also hasn't got worse. So this week I get to take a lab test! Yay!! Dunno when yet, but will find out soon.
Anyways. If u can't tell by now, this week has been bien loco. There's been the fun times and there's been difficult times. But no matter what. Everything is still good and great!
Now for something I've learned.
Missions are hard. And something we are asked to do is in Doctrine and Covenants chapter 4.
2 Therefore, O ye that embark in the service of God, see that ye serve him with all your heart, might, mind and strength, that ye may stand blameless before God at the last day.
We are supposed to serve with "all [our] heart, might, mind and strength." This sounds very difficult and overwhelming. But there's something more to this. When we get to this point, when we are giving our all to the work of God, we are no longer serving with our "heart, might, mind and strength," we are then serving with the "heart, might, mind and strength" of God. This doesn't mean that it'll get easier, but it means that we are then united with God in the work and he is able to lighten our load as we are yoked. Now I'm not talking about just my mission service. This is in all of our lives. This is how we yoke ourselves with Him. This is how we allow him to make our burdens lighter.
All right. I think Imma end the email here before I write a novel because I keep writing too much😅
Anywho... Love y'all and love all y'all's support. Thank y'all sooo much! Hope this week will be a great one for ya'll. And I'll bug ya later🪳
