Best Devotional Ever!!

 I'm sorry yall. I need to prioritize my time better on pdays. But here's a quick update.

-We have been finding some elect people and have been helping others realize how to draw closer to God. It has been such a joy to find and realize which people are the elect people God has prepared.
-I gave a talk yesterday about faith. I think it went good.
-Got to help run a birthday party for an hermana and her son.
-Performed a couple songs in a talent show in the branch.
-Just finished a fire devotional with the general authority Elder Kyle S. Mckay (the brother of our mission presidente).

Something I learned from this devotional was something that I just loved so much and felt like such an answer to a question of mine I have had for a while. He mentioned 1 Nephi 15:11

11 Do ye not remember the things which the Lord hath said?—If ye will not harden your hearts, and ask me in faith, believing that ye shall receive, with diligence in keeping my commandments, surely these things shall be made known unto you.

Personal revelation, said our prophet Russel M. Nelson, will be something so important in these last days that we won't be able to spiritually survive without it. And here in 1 Nephi explains exactly how to receive it. You must soften your heart and become humble to the will of God, you must Ask in Faith with intent to act upon the response you get, then you must be diligent in keeping his commandments. By doing so Nephi testifies that "surely these things shall be made known unto you."

This devotional has also testified to me that the leaders and general authorities are called of God and by their words, the words God would have them say, we will receive the answers to our questions and receive guidance in how to be better disciples of Christ. I know this because I have had multiple questions for a while now they were just answered.

So ya, next week I'll try harder to write a email with a better update on how things are going here in Ocócs. But for now that's all. Hope ya'll have a great week and I'll bug ya later.

¡A LA GRAN!

Wow, is a mission hard, in a good way. To start off ... I have a companion that doesn't speak a lick of English. So there's that. I mean I'll learn Spanish much faster this way. But it definitely comes with its challenges when you struggle to understand what people are saying in lessons. So basically I just sit there until he asks me a simple question, asks me to read something, or gives me that look that it's time for me to bear my testimony. But other than that I consider myself pretty lucky. I'm in the awesome little town called Genova in the zone of Coatepeque. And basically all we do is walk up and down this little main brick road, occasionally taking a tuk-tuk to a different neighboring little town, sharing messages and working with three people on their journey to baptism for this coming week. Conferencia General

Ok, so a lot but not a lot happened this week. So I think it's going to be a short one this week... we'll see. So, to start things off I have a new companion, our area doubled in size and we now have two houses. Insane... You'd think two houses would be nice, but boy does it complicate things. Now there's a lot more planning to be done every week. I am now half way through training and have a new comp! Élder Canal is lit! He's from Peru, speaks un poquito🤏 English, and is bien pilas!! (awesome) This week there's been a lot of sick people with different illnesses from a fever to kidney stones😬. So there have been many opportunities to use our priesthood authority to give priesthood blessings. It rained!! Oh how I have missed the rain!!!! It began to rain Saturday for a couple hours and then stopped. And then today it absolutely dumped for about an hour. El Dia de Preparación Final en la CCM

Oh what a P Day it has been. But before I get to what happened today, on Friday, I'll talk un poco 'bout my week. So to start this week off we got to listen to a broadcasted Devotional from Provo that D. Todd Christofferson spoke at and boy, was that a good talk. He spoke about the Atonement of Jesus and how important it is to repent. He gave us the gift of repentance and we must use it. He can't save us if we don't choose to receive this amazing gift. What's the point of Him giving us agency if we abuse it and expect him to save us without us doing any work? My house (Casa 50, which consists of 15 Élderes) tried out for a musical number for our final devotional here in la CCM. On Thursday we tried out with el himno Loor al Profeta (Praise to the Man) acapella.
