Past 2 Weeks
To start things off, we had zone conference last week and it was amazing!! Learned how to better involve members and invite the people to come unto Christ a little better. I also left a duffle bag with some clothes, my personal and mission funds and my little proselyting Book of Mormon and Bible, along with a few other things. And after that it was never seen again by a Missionary. Let's just say I wasn't the happiest camper that night when I found out that it all disappeared.
We were also getting a friend to be baptized last Saturday which we were excited about, but his family disappeared for four days and on the fifth (Friday), he hid from us and he changed his mind and said he didn't want to be baptized anymore. That was really hard to take.
But then we had splits with Elder Jefferies and Elder Tenney!! We had a great day! As Elder Tenney and I went on an hour long walk to get to the most far out parts of our area, Elder Jefferies and Soto were busy inviting Hermana Fernanda and her cousin José Armando to get baptized and they accepted!! They are trying to change so much to prove to their parents that they will be ready to be baptized. So please pray for them in their efforts.
Now as I was writing this a scripture came to mind from Doctrine and Covenants 122:
7 And if thou shouldst be cast into the pit, or into the hands of murderers, and the sentence of death passed upon thee; if thou be cast into the deep; if the billowing surge conspire against thee; if fierce winds become thine enemy; if the heavens gather blackness, and all the elements combine to hedge up the way; and above all, if the very jaws of hell shall gape open the mouth wide after thee, know thou, my son, that all these things shall give thee experience, and shall be for thy good.
So ya a lot of lame things happen. I think we all kinda know that. But all these lame experiences, all these trials, are the things that God allows to happen to us to build us up into better disciples of Christ, with more patience and longsuffering, more meekness and humility, and a perspective more Celestial. This is the purpose of these trials, but we can only access the purpose of them if we decide to turn to God as these trials come.
Just wanted to share this with ya'll to help all of us (including me) remember this truth once again. Now I hope that you all have a wonderful week and have a great beginning to this amazing Christmas month.
Bug ya later
