Las Montañas!!!

It happened guys. I finally made it to the mountains!!! But it's coooold.

Hope yall had a good couple of weeks. I was going to write last week but then they decided to transfer both my comp and I and we were running around all day trying to say bye to everyone we could. Sadly we couldn't say bye to everyone.

But now I am here in the area called San Andres Chapil as District Leader and Trainer. I get to finish up the training of Elder Huascar from Perú. This area is absolutely beautiful. It's a little rural town right at the base of the mountains. I'll add some fotos below.

But the work here is very different. Right now we are focused a lot on the members. And helping them come closer to Christ, all the while bringing their family along with them.

Conference was so amazing. I absolutely loved the talk that President Oaks gave about the importance of the family. The family really is something that is taken for granted so often. I testify that the family is ordained of God. I don't know where I would be without the guidance from my parents and the support I have received from them and my siblings.

Next week I'll write a little more about what has been going on. But just wanted to keep yall updated on some of the changes. Hope yall have a great week and I'll write yall next week! Love ya!

¡A LA GRAN!

Wow, is a mission hard, in a good way. To start off ... I have a companion that doesn't speak a lick of English. So there's that. I mean I'll learn Spanish much faster this way. But it definitely comes with its challenges when you struggle to understand what people are saying in lessons. So basically I just sit there until he asks me a simple question, asks me to read something, or gives me that look that it's time for me to bear my testimony. But other than that I consider myself pretty lucky. I'm in the awesome little town called Genova in the zone of Coatepeque. And basically all we do is walk up and down this little main brick road, occasionally taking a tuk-tuk to a different neighboring little town, sharing messages and working with three people on their journey to baptism for this coming week. Conferencia General

Ok, so a lot but not a lot happened this week. So I think it's going to be a short one this week... we'll see. So, to start things off I have a new companion, our area doubled in size and we now have two houses. Insane... You'd think two houses would be nice, but boy does it complicate things. Now there's a lot more planning to be done every week. I am now half way through training and have a new comp! Élder Canal is lit! He's from Peru, speaks un poquito🤏 English, and is bien pilas!! (awesome) This week there's been a lot of sick people with different illnesses from a fever to kidney stones😬. So there have been many opportunities to use our priesthood authority to give priesthood blessings. It rained!! Oh how I have missed the rain!!!! It began to rain Saturday for a couple hours and then stopped. And then today it absolutely dumped for about an hour. Puro Chapin Roller-coaster Ride

 Omgosh this week was all over the place. Let's get into it!!   And I'm going to try to keep this shorter To get things started, an Hermana that we met last week, we finally made it to her house and family to meet and teach them. We have visited them twice now and they are bien pilas!!!(AMAZING) The second time we met with them they expressed a desire to be baptised in the true church of God!! HOW AMAZING IS THAT!!! The love they have for God and Jesus already is amazing! This week I also got super sick. I must have eaten something bad the night before cause I was in the bathroom for 3 hours puking. So fun! Don't think I have ever felt or looked as dead as I did. Pero ni modo. When I woke up in the morning I was fine and had no more symptoms or pain. This week it has also started to rain. And when I mean rain I mean RAIN. It rains absolute cats and dogs here and we have found ourselves, many times, just standing in the rain in our many travels from area to area. So ...
