Been a while ...
Buenos días!!!
How are yall doin? I hope yall are doing great! Figured I'd write yall to make sure yall know I'm still alive. But ya, these last couple weeks have been great. Here's a little bit to sum up what's happened:
- Transfers came, and I am now in a area called Independencia and am Zone Leader for the San Pedro Zone(still in the mountains
- My new comp is Elder Whiting and he's awesome
- first week here we extended 3 baptismal dates
- last week we extended two more for yesterday and yesterday they were baptized!
- we have been learning Spanish Sign Language to teach a family with three deaf kids. I can officially teach the restauración in sign language.
- we had probably the best Elderes quorum activity that I have ever been to on the mission, consisting of a discussion of priesthood responsibilities, fútbol game, and a Guatemalan barbecue. It's amazing being in a ward after being in little branches my whole mission.
- Tuesday we were helping some people move and I ended up slicing my finger open with a metal shelving unit.
- The doctor gave me a stitch without anesthesia. If you want the video feel free to reach out and ask for it.
- I feel like the members enjoy counting down my days more than I do. Each time I talk with one they say "oh how wonderful that you'll be in your house for Christmas" and then they remind me that I only have 3 weeks left
It's been a crazy transfer so far. The members here are absolutely amazing and just love to help in the missionary work. We have seen some amazing miracles seeing how God works through us as His instruments.
A couple days ago we were on exchanges and I was with the Elder Velasquez from Bolivia. And we went to the pharmacy because there were a couple of meds that I needed to get. But the funny thing was as we were waiting in line a member named Oscar walked by but didn't notice us until I called out his name. He then came over and we chatted and planned to visit him in the same night because someone had just canceled on us for 8 pm. So when we went over we shared a message of service accompanied by the video The Story of Joseph Millet, it's an amazing video BTW. After we showed the video he shared his testimony of how he knows that God is always watching out for him and how the video helped him remember that. He then shared with us that earlier the same day he prayed asking God to show him the He hasn't forgotten Oscar. Recently he had been going through some rough stuff and has felt hopeless and lonely. But when he saw us and when we shared the message with him, he realized that God answered his prayer through us. It's just amazing how God works and how he can work through us, his children, to help his other children.
But ya, it's been an awesome couple of weeks and I'm hoping that these next few are even better. I'll see yall soon!
Love ya! Y va pue!
